Ken + Jennifer : napdesign wedding photography, Mosinee WI

September 11, 2010 started out as a rainy Saturday morning at Flowers of the Field in Mosinee Wisconsin. Sandy and Todd were setting up for an outdoor ceremony with an indoor venue ready just in case. The bride arrived with her party after getting their hair and make-up done. After they finished getting ready, a Hummer limo surprised Jennifer at the door. Ken had secretly arranged for the limo to take Jennifer and her bridesmaids to see her Grandma whom was unable to make it to the wedding. As they were leaving, the rain stopped and the sun broke through the clouds. Ken mentioned later that day that he knew his mom wouldn’t let it rain on his wedding day.

Investing Time

Even though I don’t consider myself a writer…or a “blogger”…I still enjoy sharing my thoughts as well as my work. I also enjoy spending time off the computer devoting time to my precious little one; I feel very blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom. I am also privileged to recently accept the Children Ministries Director position at my church. This is a great opportunity and I am excited to invest my time into something so important to me.

I’m the kind of person that learns better when I do things myself and have hands on experience. When we decided to get a website, I had a strong desire to know how it all worked so I ended up getting some books and researching online until I built our website from scratch. Sure it would have probably been a lot easier to use a free online template or have someone make it for me, but it was just something I was interested in.  I do want to say that the website among other things aren’t where I want them to be yet because of the limited amount of time I have to work on them but I know the importance of priorities.

I kind of felt the same way about photography. I was very interested in it and I wanted to find out for myself all I could. I am still learning new things all the time by the way. I believe we should always stay teachable and keep learning! I think I have probably outgrown my camera and would like some new lenses as well, now that I know what I know, but like many things, it can be a costly investment and take some time to save up for.

I make time for photography because it is something I really enjoy and choose to do as a part time business. Many people may not realize the time that goes into photography after the actual session. The post processing even when minimal edits are made can really add up. Photography is something I plan to continue investing my time in because I feel it is a big part of me.
