When I woke up this morning, I went to swing on the porch with my precious four month old, joining the rest of the family outside since it feels so amazing this time of year! My oldest daughter was helping my lovable two year old pick wildflowers while my six year old climber was in a tree. So then Mr. Cutie Pie, in his not so terrible two’s, proudly brings me this tiny bouquet in his hand saying “Mommy I have a present for you!”
I noticed the dew drops on it and I was immediately inspired to grab my camera and my macro lens, one of my favorite lenses I purchased when starting out about 7 years ago, and went in search of any remaining flowers they hadn’t picked yet! 😉 While searching around the house and property, I dodged the almost invisible spider webs and happened upon this dew covered grass. Now, I don’t know about other people, but I have a thing for grass, for some reason, it brings me a calming, peaceful feeling just looking at it…and Josh is like “it’s just grass, all I think about is having to wait for it to dry so I can mow it…” 😉 Needless to say, I updated my desktop background to this dew covered grass this morning! <3
Well, I was about to just go back inside when I glanced over by my studio (still in progress) and there it was, one single white flower, standing tall. I went over and squatted next to it, trying to keep my balance and keep the camera steady…if you’d ever photographed with a macro lens, you know what I’m talking about, like seriously, don’t breathe! 😀 Anyhow, what a pretty little “rain lily” covered in dew drops, it’s even better getting to view it zoomed in all the way. I barely made it back up after squatting for what must have been too long, apparently my legs aren’t what they used to be…man I need to start working out again!
